Synopsis
2LDK is a Japanese reference to a two-bedroom apartment. This movie pits two aspiring Japanese actresses, Nozomi and Lana, against each other in this catfight noir. Ultra violence becomes the name of the game – these women are after the same part in a movie and the same man -- a bad combination. This is a tightly wound, crazy 70-minute whirlwind of Japanese film making.

Observations
This is a fun movie with a crazy girl/girl fight scene that involves neither pillow fighting nor hair pulling. These women are brutal and it’s a pleasure to watch. The first 40 minutes outline the conflict, then the next half-hour is a raucous battle. The movie has a single set (the apartment the women share) and only two actors. This created for me an intense feeling of claustrophobia and made the catty interaction between the women feel authentic. The fun of this movie is anticipating which nasty exchange will merit busting out the chain saw!!
